    When you vacuum seal your pantry staples in Vac-U-Seal glass jar containers using our Vacuum Sealer Jar Wand, you’re removing the one ingredient that causes food to lose its taste, texture and goodness: air. 

    Take flours, baking powder and bicarb, for example. Once exposed to air and moisture, the raising and leavening magic is reduced, with visible results in your baking.     Caring for your jars

    Vac-U-Seal jars are easy to clean and use, with care instructions etched on every jar. The reusable lids and silicone bands are not dishwasher safe, so we recommend handwashing all parts in hot, soapy water and rinsing thoroughly before first use and every use.

    Six steps to sealing your jars

    1. Wash, rinse and dry jars, lids and silicone bands. Sterilise if contents will be cooked for less than 10 mins.   
    2. Keep jars warm in hot water (or a 80°C oven) until ready to use. Allow food to cool to below 80°C before filling.  
    3. Remove air bubbles with a silicone spatula, wipe the rims and attach the lids.   
    4. Twist the jar lid in a clockwise direction and check there are no folds in the seal.
    5. Press the ON button to start the vacuum process and wait for it to stop automatically.  
    6. Check the lid seal is secure and screw on the band, making it finger tight.

    Disappointed with product

    I have the 3 sizes of jars. I have followed the instructions but find it a hit and miss as to whether the jar will seal.

    The seal gets stuck in the top of the Vac-U-Seal vacuum sealer jar wand. To get it out it often slightly bends the seal.

    I would not recommend this product.

    No measurements

    Purchased these as I thought I'd give them a go, seeing that they were interchangeable with other major brands. They look great and will definitely do a job BUT rather disappointed that there are no guiding measurements on the side, like 'others'. It just tells you the capacity - does that measurement have a indicator line - no. Does it include headspace - dunno. Might be returning them.
