Thermomix® made the security mechanism that keeps your blades in place extra strong to keep you extra safe, but twisting it open for cleaning can be tricky for every cook. And it’s a particularly challenging twist for those with disabilities and impairments such as arthritis, gout, tenovaginitis and carpal tunnel. So, our Recipe Development and TheMix Shop teams have done more design powerlifting to bring you the Bowl Opening Aid.
Not a bulky, hulking colossus, it’s made of nylon – the lean featherweight tough stuff – with a grippy silicone base that fixes firmly to your benchtop. That means you can release, dismantle and reassemble your Thermomix® Bowl and Base with just one hand and save your arm-wrestling strength for the gym, the kids or grandkids. Or whatever else life throws at you.
How do you put this mini hulk to work? Simply place your TM5 or TM6 Bowl and Base on the Opening Aid with the mixing bowl handle lined up with the centre of the locking fork. Then fix the Opening Aid handle to your benchtop with one hand and turn the Mixing Bowl handle anti-clockwise. As soon as your Mixing Bowl Handle meets the stopper rod, your Bowl, Base and Blades are easy to disassemble, pop in the dishwasher, and you’re done.
Oh, and your Thermomix® Bowl Opening Aid works as a closing aid too. Just reverse the steps to reassemble. No sweat. No brainer.

This is the best thing I could have purchased, it is fantastic I have arthritis in my hands and I thought I was gonna have to stop using my thermie cause I couldn't open the bottom...Id give this product 100 stars if I could.
