    Tips and Tricks

    • Raw ingredients can be cut thinly or thickly according to your taste, although you may obtain a nicer result when thinly slicing hard or fibrous ingredients such as beetroot or celeriac. 
    • For perfect cutting results, choose small fruits and vegetables that fit in the feeder. Larger ingredients will need trimming to fit. 
    • Fruits and vegetables should be ripe but firm to the touch. It is particularly relevant for softer ingredients, e. g. tomatoes avocado or mango.
    • To prevent them losing their shape through cooking and drying out in the oven, thickly slice or grate ingredients you will be cooking, unless you are looking for a particular result, such as oven-baked chips, for example. 
    • Cooked and frozen ingredients are not suitable for slicing or grating with the Thermomix® Cutter (with exception of cooked beetroot).
    • Juicy ingredients (e. g. watermelon, melon, tomatoes, kiwi) are only suitable to be sliced thickly. We do not recommend grating or thinly slicing.

    Thermomix cutter

    The cutter is easy to use and clean.

    When you have arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome or any hand impairment it makes life easy.

    The fine grate is good for hiding veges in your cooking if you have fussy kids

    Product works well but easy to have operator issues

    Joined the minced and warped grater shaft club within one week of owning the cutter. Had accidentally left the shaft inside the TM jug and went to use it for regular blending. Would be handy if there was a sensor to identify when there is something on the blade.

    A Little Disappointed

    I have only had limited use and perhaps the choice of cheese was too soft (Colby) but there was a lot of waste on the grating (fine) setting. Grating carrots was also disappointing. Again a lot of waste. I tried slicing spring onions as the demo video shows that happening with great results. But it all ended up a mush.

    I found the instructions very confusing and the indicators on the actual blade are not clear. Trying to work out which way to put the disc wasn't clear. I bought this thinking it would make slicing and grating a breeze with professional results, but either I am doing something wrong or the product isn't as good as described and demonstrated.
